I have been for breakfast and lunch both with family and friends. Always delicious, fresh, and new. You will always see someone you know. The food is top notch. The Reuben, Mac and Cheese, and Breakfast sandwiches are my favorites. Kirk, Ashley and their staff could not be any friendlier

This place is amazing!!!!! I can't wait to go back, there were so many things I wanted to try! I had the pleasure of sharing three lunch choices. Philly Cheese steak that will make you want to slap your momma. Mac and Cheese that was delicious and kid approved by my mini 2 year foodie. Now if you love lobster, please do not waste your time anywhere else, there Lobster Roll and Mac&Cheese Lobster Roll was off the charts. Unlike other places locally, not only was it prepared to perfection there was plenty of it... No rations!!!!! Amazing. Delicious. Highly recommend.

Up there with the top food spots in the south. My wife said that the corned beef and hash was the best she had ever tasted. Atmosphere is laid back and friendly. If your looking for something that will leave you speechless at a reasonable price the howlin hound is the place.

The food really does taste as good as it looks! Generous potions and in depth flavors will guarantee our return. We tried the calamari which was not too heavy on the breading which we like; the root beer braised short rib ( oh so tender), the whole flounder (a spicy sauce to go with the mild fish) and finished with the pineapple cheesecake (not too sweet). Great addition to that shopping center!

I ordered their Rueben. Very tasty. The rye was perfectly toasted. The sauerkraut had a nice crunch and the perfect amount of tang. It wasn't swimming in 1,000 Island Dressing but just the right amount. And the star was the corned beef that was oh so flavorful and delightful. Definitely will come here again ... The only downside will be deciding if I want another perfect Rueben or if I want to try another sure to be tasty option

Finally had the opportunity to have lunch with hubby today at Howlin Hound! The firecracker shrimp wrap was very good. Hubby described the fried grouper as "perfect". The waffle fries that came with the our respective orders were hot and crispy thin. Enjoyed meeting Mr. Blaine today. Thank you for bringing more great food to this side of town!!! We will be back!

I knew it would be good based on the short rib grilled cheese the chef made at Driftaway. But being a burger guy I had to go with the Bethesda burger. I wasn't disappointed. Had to go without tomato and lettuce plus added caramelized onions instead of regular red opinion. No doubt best cheeseburger in Savannah. Better than Husk in Charleston. On par with Holeman and Finch in ATL. Different category of burger than shake shack or in and out. My new go to place.

I went to eat there with my husband and young daughter! The food was fantastic, and service was wonderful! My husband was able to meet up on his lunch break, and make it back to work on time- rare that you can find food this great that you can fit in a lunch break! We will absolutely be back again.

Chef Kirk Blaine, a Savannah native, was born with cooking and leadership in his blood. Son to local business owners, he was raised with a hard work ethic and determination to succeed against adversity and obstacles. Graduating from Benedictine Military School gave Chef Kirk the determination to attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where he completed his Bachelors in Hotel Restaurant Administration, with Culinary Management. In New York he gained worldly knowledge and influences from around the globe that shine brightly in his dishes. As Executive Chef of Driftaway Café, he honed his skills. After years of training he took on an adventurous project and conceived the Restaurant at Cohen’s Retreat. After passing Cohen’s Retreat on, he went to open The Howlin Hound, which is an All-American Casual Gourmet lunch and dinner restaurant featuring the greatest sandwiches, wraps, steaks and seafood. Soon thereafter he opened the Castaway in Sandfly, which is a sport fishing themed restaurant boasting a wide variety of the freshest catches of the Low Country. Chef Blaine has also recently opened the upscale Savannah River Room, which is a private reservable catering venue for events, and celebrations of all occasions. Chef Kirk also features full service catering for any size events from 20 to 2000, and has cooked in every venue in the Low Country.

Chef Blaine is still a family man, and always welcomes his wife Ashley, son William, and dogs Buddy & Nelson into the kitchen to spend countless hours together as a family. A very loyal staff supports Chef Kirk and is inspired by his passion for food, flavor, and fun! When not in the restaurant you may find Chef Kirk contributing to one of his favorite charitable organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America, Ronald McDonald House, Second Harvest Food Bank, The Humane Society, Alzheimer’s Association, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, March of Dimes, Bethesda Academy, JEA, Forest City Gun Club, or his church, First Presbyterian on Washington Avenue. Chef Kirk continues to be a frontrunner in the Southern food scene in every category, and will continue to delight every guest that he encounters!
